New Twitter Now Available to Everyone
As of today, everyone who uses Twitter now has access to the new Twitter. Whether you’re just signing up today or you’ve been a user for years, this new experience is finally real for everyone – all 160 million of you – and in six languages to boot.
Since twitter announced the new Twitter four weeks ago, they've closely watched Tweets and user comments. They’ve received lots of great feedback that will help as they continue to make Twitter.com even better.
So while they still (and will always) have plenty of work to do, theye’re pleased with the positive reaction so far. People are telling them that they love that theye’ve kept the timeline simple while also providing a richer experience through the details pane. You can now dive deeper into a Tweet and see more details, like recent replies, the bios of other accounts mentioned in it, and photos and videos from media partners like Flickr, YouTube, USTREAM and yfrog.
Not sure how to access the new Twitter? Check for the blue bar at the top of Twitter.com, and click on the yellow “Try it now!” button to give it a shot. You’ll be able to switch between both the old and new versions of Twitter for the next few weeks. After that, everyone will just use the new version.
Kim Kardashian Now Has 5 Million Followers on Twitter
Kim Kardashian's famous actress and model has officially passed the 5 million Twitter follower mark. Kim thanked all of her followers on her blog, saying: It’s such a mind blowing feeling to know so many of you are out there reading my tweets! I can’t believe it! I love you so much."
Now that she's over 5 million, Kim is quickly catching up to Justin Bieber, who has racked up more than 5.5 million followers and other stars such as Lady Gaga who has the highest number of twitter followers. It might be possible that soon she will beat them in terms of number of followers.

Dick Costolo, Twitter’s Chief Operation Officer will take over as CEO of the micro blogging platform, the company announced. Twitter’s co-founder and current CEO Evan Williams steps aside in order to be completely focused on product strategy. Costolo, a long time friend of Williams and co founder Biz Stone, joined Twitter as COO just over a year ago.
Since Costolo’s arrival, Twitter has moved into larger offices in San Francisco to accommodate a payroll that has swelled from a few dozen people to about 300 employees.Costolo, 47, also has played a key role in devising an advertising for Twitter as it tries to make money from an online audience that increased from 3 million registered users when Williams became CEO in 2008 to 160 million now.
50 Cent defends anti gay statement on Twitter
50 Cent has defended his controversial post on Twitter.com, which said that gay men should commit suicide and is adamant he wasn't making an anti-gay statement. "If you (are) a man and your (sic) over 25 and you don't eat pu**y just kill yourself damn it. The world will be a better place," as tweeted by star on Twitter the earlier day.
The tweet was criticized by his followers for the remark but he explained the post and insisted that the comment was misinterpreted. "The other night I made a joke about a b**w job. My male followers enjoyed it. So I then went on to joke about women receiving the same.
"Somehow they turned a simple joke about oral sex into an anti-gay statement. I have nothing against people who choose an alternative lifestyle; in fact I've publicly stated my mum loved women. It's funny how people think negative statements are newsworthy but positive statements are not worthy of coverage," he added.
Coffee chain apologises for twitter joke on Bapu
Cafe Coffee Day's (CCD) offended Indians feelings by making a humour about Mahatama Gandhi on its Twitter account on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.On Saturday, the CCD tweeted: "Good morning tweeps... Bapu aaj zinda hote toh CCD jaroor aate (if Bapu was alive, he'd surely come to CCD)."
Unfortunately, the message didn't go down well with others online, who called the tweet 'a cheap sales pitch' and one in 'bad taste'. Said a tweeter, "This is a new abyss in direct advertising and CCD should be hauled to coals for this bizarre attempt."
Within an hour of the negative reactions, the chain swung into damage control mode, posting apologies on its page. "Apparently, a lot of you took the Bapu tweet too seriously. Sincere apologies guys, it was just in good humour. Sorry once again! We look up to Bapuji for his contributions and the tweet was in no way meant as disrespect or a sales pitch. Apologies if we offended anyone!"

Puppy Tweets is an electronic dog tag with a sensor that is attached to a dog’s collar. The new device detects a dog’s movements and sounds and sends a variety of Tweets to a Twitter page that can be set up for a dog.According to Rachel Cooper of Mattel Inc., the new novelty is aimed at the pet loving social network crowd.
According to information received there are 500 tweets programmed into the software that comes with the device, which is available in blue or pink colors. The frequency of messages is directly related to the activity level of the dog.A very active dog may tweet a message like: “Chasing everything that moves is definitely a full time job!”. In order to prevent repetition Mattel was adding 200 free tweets this week to the message library.
With a limited number of the tags that went on sale earlier the year, some users complained about software problems. Mattel confirmed that it had worked on resolving the problems.
Athletes give Delhi Commonwealth Games thumbs up on Twitter
Australian athletes are happy by the accommodation and security at the Delhi Commonwealth Games. They have used social networking site Twitter to give the thumbs up to their accommodation and security in the Indian capital.
The build up to the Common wealth Games have been in controversy after the collapse of a footbridge, the shooting of two tourists and reports of filthy and unlivable conditions in the athletes' village. Swimmer Ashley Delaney said that the condition of the village was improving.
"Each day the village has gotten better and better! I haven't seen a snake or a monkey yet..." Delaney tweeted. He also described the security on the way to the main competition pool as impressive. "We have a police escort take us there and back and we don't stop at all. It's actually pretty impressive!" World champion cyclist Anna Meares said that the conditions are not that bad as reported in the national and international media.
"First day in Delhi over. Drive from airport was an eye opener. Few unfinished things and bit dusty, but all in all not too bad," The Age quoted Meares, as saying. Australia has topped the gold and total medal tallies at the past five Commonwealths, and is expected to once again be the number one nation.

Kanye West is Furious after his new song was leaked on Twitter. He has been left furious after a track from his unreleased album was leaked on Twitter. Back in August 2010, the rapper promised that he would upload a new song every Friday for fans to listen to, however, he is now refusing to release anymore tracks.
It is reported that a hacker managed to leak the new track entitled Lost In The World on Wednesday 29th September. West vented his frustration on the social networking site soon after, saying, "It's messed up that one hacker can mess everything up for everyone", before adding, "It would have seemed like since I give free music every week even the lowest form of human being would respect that enough not to leak unfinished songs from my real album"
It is thought that the leaked track will feature on the rapper's fifth studio album, Dark Twisted Fantasy scheduled for a release in late 2010.

Comedian Russell Brand has adopted a new and amazing way of promoting his new book. He tweeted on his twitter account, a Semi Naked photo. While posing naked on Twitter he used the tome for covering his private parts. Brand, 35, tweeted a picture of himself naked with the copy of his second autobiographical instalment “My Booky Wook 2?, and the photo was tagged with the caption “Erotic literature? This time its personal”.
He also tweeted to a fan that the copy was “destroyed for hygiene reasons”.The book shows Brand through the ups and downs of fame, touring, tabloids, movies, and his relationship with singer Katy Perry, who he famously says, changed him from a bad boy to a one woman man. Brand will be promoting his book in New York on October 12.
