New Twitter Now Available to Everyone

As of today, everyone who uses Twitter now has access to the new Twitter. Whether you’re just signing up today or you’ve been a user for years, this new experience is finally real for everyone – all 160 million of you – and in six languages to boot. Since twitter announced the new Twitter four weeks ago, they’ve closely watched Tweets and user comments. They’ve received lots of great feedback that will help as they continue to make Twitter.com even better. So while they still (and will always) have plenty of work to do, theye’re pleased with the positive reaction so far. People are telling them that they love that theye’ve kept the timeline simple while also providing a richer experience through the details pane. You can now dive deeper into a Tweet and see more details, like recent replies, the bios of other accounts mentioned in it, and photos and videos from media partners like Flickr, YouTube, USTREAM and yfrog. Not sure how to access the new Twitter? Check for the blue bar at the top of Twitter.com, and click on the yellow “Try it now!” button to give it a shot. Kim Kardashian’s  famous actress and model has officially passed the 5 million Twitter follower mark. Kim thanked all of her followers on her blog, saying: It’s such a mind blowing feeling to know so many of you are out there reading my tweets! I can’t believe it! I love you so much.” Now that she’s over 5 million, Kim is quickly catching up to Justin Bieber, who has racked up more than 5.5 million followers and other stars such as Lady Gaga who has the highest number of twitter followers. Twitter to get new CEO

Dick Costolo, Twitter’s Chief Operation Officer will take over as CEO of the micro blogging platform, the company announced. Twitter’s co-founder and current CEO Evan Williams steps aside in order to be completely focused on product strategy. Costolo, a long time friend of Williams and co founder Biz Stone, joined Twitter as COO just over a year ago. Since Costolo’s arrival, Twitter has moved into larger offices in San Francisco to accommodate a payroll that has swelled from a few dozen people to about 300 employees.Costolo, 47, also has played a key role in devising an advertising for Twitter as it tries to make money from an online audience that increased from 3 million registered users when Williams became CEO in 2008 to 160 million...

50 Cent defends anti gay statement on Twitter

50 Cent has defended his controversial post on Twitter.com, which said that gay men should commit suicide and is adamant he wasn’t making an anti-gay statement. “If you (are) a man and your (sic) over 25 and you don’t eat pu**y just kill yourself damn it. The world will be a better place,”  as tweeted by star on Twitter the earlier day. The tweet was criticized by his followers for the remark but he explained the post and insisted that the comment was misinterpreted. “The other night I made a joke about a b**w job. Cafe Coffee Day’s (CCD) offended Indians feelings by making a humour about Mahatama Gandhi on its Twitter account on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.On Saturday, the CCD tweeted: “Good morning tweeps… Bapu aaj zinda hote toh CCD jaroor aate (if Bapu was alive, he’d surely come to CCD).” Unfortunately, the message didn’t go down well with others online, who called the tweet ‘a cheap sales pitch’ and one in ‘bad taste’. Said a tweeter, “This is a new abyss in direct advertising and CCD should be hauled to coals for this bizarre attempt.” Within an hour of the negative reactions, the chain swung into damage control mode, posting apologies on its page. “Apparently, a lot of you took the Bapu tweet too seriously. Puppy Tweets is an electronic dog tag with a sensor that is attached to a dog’s collar. The new device detects a dog’s movements and sounds and sends a variety of Tweets to a Twitter page that can be set up for a dog.According to Rachel Cooper of Mattel Inc., the new novelty is aimed at the pet loving social network crowd. According to information received there are 500 tweets programmed into the software that comes with the device, which is available in blue or pink colors. The frequency of messages is directly related to the activity level of the dog.A very active dog may tweet a message like: “Chasing everything that moves is definitely a full time job!”. In order to prevent repetition Mattel was adding 200 free tweets this week to the message library.
